Welcome to APPAYON - Cuisine Bangladeshi, a culinary oasis nestled in the heart of Montreal, specifically at 520 Av. Ogilvy. This charming restaurant invites you to embark on a delightful gastronomic journey through the rich and vibrant flavors of Bangladeshi cuisine. With its warm ambiance and friendly service, APPAYON is a haven for both locals and visitors craving authentic Bengali dishes.

One of the standout features of APPAYON is its impressive menu, which includes a variety of dishes that pay homage to traditional Bangladeshi cooking. Each offering bursts with flavor, from the tender Poulet Roti—a roast chicken dish that is simultaneously savory and subtly sweet, accompanied by a luscious gravy—to the aromatic Crevette Shaag, expertly crafted with shrimps, spinach, lentils, and a blend of spices. These are dishes that resonate with the soul, evoking fond memories of home-cooked meals.

During my visit, I couldn't resist trying the Haleem and the Kebab Au Thon, both of which garnered rave reviews. While the tuna kebabs were delicious, some guests noted they could be a touch greasy, but the flavors were undeniable. The Biryani, a must-try, transports you directly to a bustling market in Dhaka with its rich spices and tender meat, leaving diners eager for more.

What truly sets APPAYON apart is its commitment to authenticity and customer satisfaction. Diners have praised the hearty portions that beg to be shared, perfect for group gatherings. The Ramadan specials offer a variety of traditional favorites, allowing families to come together and celebrate the season with flavors that resonate deeply.

From personal experience—one of the highlights was the Mango Lassi, which was beautifully crafted and refreshing. Each sip was a delightful blend of sweet and creamy, a perfect accompaniment to the spicy entrees. Speaking of which, the Beef Tehari received particular admiration for its tender meat and aromatic spices, making it a staple worth revisiting.

As noted by multiple patrons, APPAYON's ambiance coupled with its genuine hospitality creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that cultivates togetherness and joy through food. For anyone exploring Montreal or Bangladeshi cuisine for the first time, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting APPAYON - a true gem, where every dish recounts a story and every meal is an invitation to celebrate the flavors of Bangladesh.

Whether you are a local or just passing through, savor the authentic Bangladeshi flavors at APPAYON - Cuisine Bangladeshi—your taste buds will thank you!

I went on a Tuesday evening. Everything was good and worth it as I was full. The food came fast as well. They give onions and spice on the side as well which is a nice addition. The mango lassi was made well as well. The tuna kebab had too much oil however and there was a small piece of metal in my dish(beef tehari). The situation was resolved with no issue whatsoever.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, incredibly delicious and very much like home style cooking. I have very critical family members when it comes to food and yet everyone was satisfied and wanted even more! I ordered for catering for a small gathering of about 20 people. The food was fresh and was everything I asked for. What was nice is that the staff was considerate to wrap my food so that it would not spill on my way back to Ottawa. Very kind and attentive. I ordered the biryani with the roast chicken and the round patties (chop), and people at my party (non-desi and Desi) are still raving about it. No question I will order again!

Two years of wait later I finally made time to see the only Bangali restaurant in Montreal! Appayon is a hidden gem that transported us straight to the heart of Bengali cuisine. The flavors at Appayon are spectacular. Each dish bursts with authenticity, carrying the aroma of Bangladeshi cuisine. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional and contemporary dishes. We went as a group so we could try a variety of beef tehari, goru bhuna, morog polao and biriyani, all of which were perfectly crispy and savory. We also paired with fish, cutlets, kabab and bhorta, which were rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. the chaa made my day! The portions are hearty, satisfying, and perfect for sharing. Whether you’re a solo diner or part of a group, you’ll leave with a contented belly and a smile. Overall, Appayon Restaurant is a gem in Montreal’s dining scene. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit for any Bangali missing home. Gather your loved ones, savor the flavors, and let the warmth of Bangladeshi hospitality envelop you.

If you are looking for authentic Bengali cuisine in Montreal I would highly recommend Appayon! We ordered 1) Appayon special combo( 8.5/10) 2) beef tehari (8/10) (beef was soft and tender) 3) shutki vorta - (6.5/10) (it was not that spicy) 4) rup chada mach - (7.5/10) 5) beef bhuna (8.5/10) 6) dudh cha (8.5/10) Portion size is good and the food was really yummy! Staff and service was good . Price is reasonable. ** Their appayon special roast was too good just like Bangladesh’s bie barir roast.
